JAPANESE WHISKY FEATURE: MARS & AKASHI

Dear friends,

While we commend all of the wine and spirits lovers participating in Dry January, rest assured that things are remaining substantially damp here at High Road Wine & Spirits. To kick off the New Year, we’re excited to share a Japanese Whisky offer highlighting the impressive bottlings of Mars and Akashi. Be sure to take advantage of our January promotions all month long (see below for details / attached for full lineup). To place an order, please respond to this email directly or contact your rep.

Looking forward to a prosperous, wine-and-spirits-filled year ahead! Cheers, The HRWS Team.

ABOUT MARS

Situated at a staggering 2,600 feet above sea level, Mars Shinshu is Japan’s highest elevation whisky distillery. Nestled between Japan’s Southern and Central Alps, the property is spearheaded by the Hombo family, who’ve been distilling high-quality spirits for over a century (whisky distillation first began in 1949). As of 2016, the distillery introduced new pot stills to their new location in Kagoshima, which is now known as the Mars Tsunki Distillery. Mars produces both blended and single malt whiskies, which are known for their delicate, refined, and impeccably balanced profiles.

ABOUT AKASHI

Crafted at Japan’s renowned Eigashima Shuzo, one of Japan’s oldest family-run distilleries, Akashi gets its name from the eponymous village in which its produced, located just a hop, skip, and a jump away from Osaka Bay. Now spearheaded by the family’s ninth generation, Eigashima Shuzo’s whiskies are soaring to new heights. A variety of spirits are produced during certain times of the year, with whisky production taking place from September to March—though despite the growth in the category’s popularity, these small-batch bottles remain as artisanal and high quality as they come.
