​As a Retail Specialist, you will play a crucial roleprodic in planning and implementing merchandising strategies, collaborating with channel partners, and building customer relationships.​ 

 

Role Summary: 

The Retail Specialist will be the analytical and creative force driving our product displays and promotional activities. This role requires an individual who understands customer behavior, monitors stock movements, and manages inventory levels. You will ensure that product displays are appealing to customers and handle supply problems and customer issues efficiently. 

 

Duties & Responsibilities: 

Merchandising: 

  • Display, arrange, and rotate products in store to maintain an attractive and organized presentation. 

  • Stock sales floor shelves, ensuring displays are appealing and strategically placed to drive sales. 

  • Maintain store shelves by removing outdated or damaged products. 

  • Ensure stores, shelves, or websites are stocked with the right types and quantities of products. 

Inventory Management: 

  • Monitor store inventory based on sales and intake, maintaining optimal stock levels. 

  • Track inventory and ensure accurate records are kept. 

  • Handle supply chain problems and resolve customer issues promptly. 

 

Product Knowledge: 

  • Educate retail staff on product details, technical information, and promotions to enhance their selling capabilities. 

  • Stay up-to-date with merchandising trends and product sales through attractive product displays and promotions. 

Customer & Vendor Relations: 

  • Liaise between customers and the company, fostering strong relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction. 

  • Collaborate with channel partners to optimize product placements and promotional activities. 

  • Address customer inquiries and issues promptly and professionally. 

Qualifications & Skills: 

  • Relevant Background: High school diploma/GED required; a degree in business, marketing, retail, or a related field is preferred. 

  • Merchandising Expertise: Previous experience in merchandising or retail preferred; wine & spirits knowledge is a plus. 

  • Organizational Savvy: Strong organizational and decision-making skills, with the ability to multitask and manage time effectively. 

  • Effective Communicator: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build relationships and handle customer interactions professionally. 

  • Relationship Building: Outgoing and personable, with a strong ability to establish and maintain customer relationships. 

  • Industry Passion: Enthusiasm for the wine & spirits field, aligned with High Road's values and culture. 

  • Collaborative Drive: Self-motivated, collaborative, and adaptable in a dynamic team environment. 

  • Technical Proficiency: Valid driver's license and access to a car for transportation. 

  • Physical Capability: Ability to lift 30 lbs. as needed.
