Soldera Case Basse was founded in 1970 by Gianfranco Soldera, a Treviso-born insurance broker who moved to Tuscany with a dream of making wine. Upon purchasing the 23-hectare property, Soldera immediately began his quest to make low-intervention Brunello far before vinifying in said way was fashionable. His first vintage was released in 1975, with the inaugural Brunello following in 1977.
As of 2006 vintage, the estate now labels its wine under the IGT Toscana designation. Soldera Case Basse produces a very small amount of sought-after wines annually, which are made entirely from Sangiovese. The estate’s wines are known for their harmonious balance and elegance. All wines are made with healthy fruit, which is sorted three times during harvest to ensure top quality, and vinified without any additives.
