Tolaini is the brainchild of the ambitious Pier Luigi Tolaini, who left Italy at the age of nineteen in pursuit of the American dream. After years of success, he returned to Tuscany and purchased property in Chianti Classico, specifically the sub-zone of Castelnuovo Berardenga. Since his passing in 2020, Pier’s daughter, Lia, along with her three children, have spearheaded operations at this world-renowned estate.
As of this year (2023), Tolaini is certified organic. In the cellar, all wines are fermented concrete and vinified using traditional methods that respect Tuscany’s traditional ways. Tolaini wines are beloved for their pioneering spirit, as well as their consistently vivacious flavor profiles.
